Filming is taking place in various locations in the Principado de Asturias, including the Historic Building of the University of Oviedo, the Milan Campus and the Calatrava Building, the historic center of Avilés, and the Niemeyer Center, which will become key settings in the protagonist’s universe. Filming will move to Bogotá, Colombia, in November.
The Professor is a production by Atresmedia Cine, Gonita, 4 Cats Pictures, and Una nueva comedia AIE, in co-production with Vaya Films (Colombia), with the participation of Atresmedia and Netflix, and funding from the ICAA and the Community of Madrid. It will be distributed in theaters by A Contracorriente Films, with Film Factory as the international sales agency.
