Filming took place in Asturias and Bogot\u00e1, Colombia.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Professor&#8221; is a comedy with dramatic undertones inspired by true events. The film addresses current issues such as loneliness and self-deception, combining humor and emotion to offer an honest look at digital vulnerability, the need for affection, and the desire to believe.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Professor&#8221; is a production of Atresmedia Cine, Gonita, 4 Cats Pictures, and Una Nueva Comedia AIE, in co-production with Vaya Films (Colombia), with the participation of Atresmedia and Netflix, and funding from the ICAA and the Community of Madrid. It will be distributed in theaters by A Contracorriente Films and has Film Factory as its international sales agency. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The professor&#8221; participated in the first edition of La Incubadora and in the Madrid Film Window, where he won the Best Development Award in 2018.<br \/>\nThe project has received institutional support from the Principality of Asturias and the city councils of Oviedo and Avil\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<p>SYNOPSIS: Carlos, a lonely university professor, falls in love online with Claudia, a model twenty years his junior who lives in Colombia. She never wants to talk via video call\u2026 only via chat.
