Founded in 2013, 4 CATS Pictures first feature-length animated film was Capture the Flag<\/strong><\/em> by Enrique Gato (2015), a co-production with Telecinco Cinema, Telef\u00f3nica Studios, Ikiru Films and Lightbox Entertaiment. This was the third most successful film of the year in Spain in terms of box office takings, winning major awards such as the 2016 Goya for the Best Animated Film<\/strong>, el 2016 Premio Gaud\u00ed for the Best Animated Film<\/strong> and the 2016 Premio Platino for the Best Animated Film<\/strong>. The company’s second production, once again in association with Telecinco Cinema, Telef\u00f3nica Studios, Ikiru Films and Lightbox Entertaiment, was Tad the Lost Explorer and the Secret of King Midas<\/em><\/strong>, the most successful film of the year in Spain.\u00a0\u00a0Among other awards, he was awarded the 2018\u00a0Goya for the Best Animation Film<\/strong>, the 2018 Premio Gaud\u00ed for the Best Animation Film<\/strong> and the 2018 Premio Platinum for the Best Animation Film<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In 2020 released \u201cMalasa\u00f1a 32\u201d<\/strong> (Alberto Pint\u00f3), co-produced with Atresmedia Cine<\/strong>, Bamb\u00fa Producciones, Mr. Fields and Friends <\/strong>and Warner Bros. Spain, <\/strong>and also \u201cEl verano que vivimos\u201d <\/strong>(Carlos Sedes), a story of love, friendship and betrayal starring Blanca Su\u00e1rez, \u00a0Javier Rey and Pablo Molinero. The film is co-produced with Mr. Fields and Friends, Atresmedia Cinema, Warner Bros. Entertainment Spain, Bamb\u00fa Producciones <\/strong>and La Claqueta.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 2022, released \u201cLive is life. La gran aventura\u201d<\/strong> (Dani de la Torre), a youth comedy with a script by Albert Espinosa that 4 CATS co-produced with Atresmedia Cine<\/strong> and Live is life AIE<\/strong>. Distribution was handled by Warner Bros.<\/strong><\/p>\n

2023 is the year of \u201cMummies<\/strong>\u201d, its next animated film, whose premiere is made worldwide, becoming the first Spanish film with the highest cinematographic\u00a0distribution from a Hollywood studio. “Mummies<\/strong>” is an adventure family comedy. Animation was made at Core Animation<\/strong> studios and distributed by Warner Bros.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In August 2024 \u201cBuffalo Kids\u201d<\/strong> hits the screens and becomes in its first weekend one of the ten highest grossing Spanish films of 2024.\u00a0 \u201cBuffalo Kids\u201d<\/strong> is a story by Jordi Gasull and Javier Barreira based on the short story \u2018Cuerdas\u2019 <\/strong>by Pedro Sol\u00eds.<\/p>\n

4 CATS\u2019 next animation project is\u00a0\u201cDreams\u201d<\/strong>, which it is developing with its usual animation studio\u00a0Core Animation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Among its live-action projects, 4 CATS PICTURES is preparing the release of \u201cIdols,<\/strong>\u201d an action film set in the MotoGP universe, directed by Mat Whitecross and starring Oscar Casas, Claudio Santamar\u00eda, and Ana Mena. \u201cIdols<\/strong>\u201d is a production of 4 CATS<\/strong>, Warner Bros. Spain, Warner Bros. <\/strong>Italy, Mogambo<\/strong>, Anangu Grup<\/strong>, Greenboo<\/strong>, and El Imperio Contrataca AIE.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Finally, they have just finished filming \u201cThe Professor<\/strong>\u201d a feature film written and directed by Daniel Castro and starring Javier Guti\u00e9rrez and Gonzalo de Castro. Filming took place in Asturias and Bogot\u00e1, Colombia. \u201cThe Professor<\/strong>\u201d is a production of Atresmedia Cine<\/strong>, Gonita<\/strong>, 4 Cats Pictures<\/strong>, and Una Nueva Comedia AIE<\/strong>, in co-production with Vaya Films<\/strong> (Colombia).
